Traditional pecan pie is made with high fructose corn syrup. In an effort to make this pie more natural, we used pure maple syrup and three eggs, which allows the pecan pie filling to set up nicely once it has cooled.

We use our own homemade all butter pie crust, but feel free to use your go-to pie crust whether it is homemade, refrigerated, or frozen.

Main Ingredients

This recipe uses super easy ingredients that can be purchased from a local grocery store if they are not already in your kitchen. Read the Recipe Card for the measurements.

  • Pecans – Toasting the pecans will maximize the flavor and crunch of these tasty nuts.
  • Light Brown Sugar / Maple Syrup – The combination of light brown sugar and maple syrup provide plenty of sweetness.
  • Eggs – Since we are not using corn syrup, 3 eggs allows the pecan pie filling to set and create structure.
  • Butter – Adds richness to this pecan pie.
  • Flour – We use all-purpose flour, which helps to set the filling.
  • Sea Salt – This milder salt helps to balance the sweetness in the pie.
